#10 Poivre by Caron – $1,000 per ounce

Poivre, created by perfumer Michel Morsetti, was first launched in 1954. The perfume is made from a combination of hot spicy pepper top note mingled with a rich floral heart, and woody base notes. A beautiful Baccarat bottle containing two ounces of Caron’s Poivre is sold for $2,000.

#9 24 Faubourg Extrait Limited Edition by Hermès – $1500 per ounce

This limited edition perfume was composed by legendary perfumer Maurice Roucel and Bernard Bourjois. Only one thousand bottles, made out of St. Louis crystal, were created and each bottle contained only one ounce of perfume.

#8 Joy Baccarat Pure Parfum Limited Edition by Jean Patou – $1,800 per ounce

Just to make one bottle of Joy perfume, around 10,600 flowers are required. So several kilos of blossoms are harvested from the Jean Patou flower fields in Grasse to achieve this. Jean Patou creates only 50 limited-edition inscribed Baccarat Pure Parfum bottles each year.

The expensive price tag comes from the fact that the bottle is enriched with a brilliant cut diamond and the perfume is a composition of rarest and most precious ingredients.

#6 Les Larmes Sacrees de Thebes by Baccarat – $6,800 per ounce

Baccarat, a renowned manufacturer of custom-made artisan bottles for luxury perfume companies, released an Egyptian-themed perfume named ‘Les Larmes Sacrees de Thebes’ for around $6,800 per ounce. The particularly interesting thing about this perfume is its exotic looking pyramid shaped bottle.

#5 No. 1 Imperial Majesty Perfume by Clive Christian – $12,722 per ounce

The Imperial Majesty Perfume is a combination of jasmine, rose oil, Italian cinnamon and orris root. Only 10 bottles of this perfume were created and each bottle, containing 16.9 oz of this perfume, was sold for a whopping $215,000. This custom-made expensive bottle, encrusted with 18-carat gold and lidded with a 5-carat white diamond, was designed by Baccarat.

#4 Idylle Baccarat Lux Edition by Guerlain – $13235 per ounce

The scent of Idylle was created by perfumer Thierry Wasser while its exotic flacon, plated with 18-carat gold and lidded with a gold stopper, was crafted by Ora ïto. The perfume bottle comes enveloped in a clear Baccarat crystal ball that must be broken in order to access the perfume bottle.

#3 1 Million LUXE Edition by Paco Rabanne – $17273 per ounce

Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million comes in a golden bottle with a diamond crown, encased in an elegant leather case. The outer case, designed by Noe Duchaufour-Lawrence, has a golden lever. The perfume is available in 100 ml bottles with a price tag of $57,000.

#2 The Royalé Dream Scents by World Of Diamonds Group & Cuarzo The Circle – $140,000

World Of Diamonds Group and Cuarzo The Circle collaborated to create a luxurious set of three most exclusive perfumes in the world. These fragrances were encased in diamond-encrusted bottles and tucked inside a platinum-plated ostrich egg shaped container with a luxurious lambskin leather interior.

#1 V1 by Arfaq – $464, 900 per ounce

Designed by Arfaq, V1 is the most expensive perfume ever sold. A 29 ml (0.5 oz) bottle was privately sold to His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Bin Abdullah Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia at a staggering price of $232,450 in London on 29 October 2006.
